coat of arms

water boy, you swim
the heights, the tallest
rocks and blades, traces
of you drop, transform
into my late, worn
trance you
take a dive, swallow
into the unfamiliar
body, my safe: your hands and
wings as rivers,
eyes in crests
my coat of arms removed: this yellow
plume of you
hammering a deaf ocean
beat against my drums, shields of
silvering drizzle and sweet
spit, soft now, my wants of
trembling do prevail,
the one,
the single gush, and i was
you: we were beautiful
once,
we were beautiful once.
